Aviation English for Engineers/Technicians - Recurrent Training
Course content:
Both written and spoken English will be practiced during this recurrent training course, with an emphasis on spoken English. This course concentrates on the communication between SAFA inspector and flight crew. The knowledge of professional vocabulary will be refreshed and improved, as well as the knowledge of basic grammatical structures. Communication will be practiced in role plays, discussions and presentations. In addition to this, making telephone calls, and writing e-mails in English will be practiced.
Prior to the course the participants will be given the assignment to prepare a short presentation about a memorable SAFA inspection, to be discussed during the course.
Day 1
- Exchanging experiences
- Individual presentations about SAFA-inspections (assignment given prior to the course)
- Skills: Making telephone calls
- Role-plays
- Vocabulary: technical vocabulary & language of manuals
- Grammar: Review tenses
- Self-study
Day 2
- Describing findings and reporting
- Asking for and giving information via e-mail
- Role-plays
- Vocabulary: technical vocabulary & linking words
- Grammar: conditional sentences
- Evaluation of the course
Target Audience:
Authority Inspectors engaged in the performance of aircraft inspections whereby a large part of the communication is performed in English and frequent interaction with the crew is anticipated.
Prerequisites:
The course is for Aviation Inspectors who have attended the initial Aviation English & Communication Training Course.
Course Objectives:
The end of the two-day course, the participants shall be able to communicate more easily with flight crews through English, and speak English more confidently. They shall be able to write e-mail messages and make telephone calls in acceptable, idiomatic English.
Course duration and group size:
2 days, group size is limited to max. 12 participants.
Course fee and location
Depending on location and group size an attractive proposal will be made. Training course can be organised at our training facilities in Amsterdam, the Netherlands or at the customer location.
