Paolo Lironi

Executive Director, Leasing

Paolo Lironi joined the SGI team as Executive Director, Engine Advisory BV, with more than 10 years of experience in commercial power plants. Mr. Lironi manages a team of engine specialists who inspect, assess, value and manage engines on behalf of customers. His expertise in creating complex ‘Engine Removal Plans,’ carrying out engine Inspections and managing assets makes him an invaluable part of the SGI team.

Previously Mr. Lironi held the position of Director, Engine Services with IASG, where he increased the business revenue from zero to half a million dollars. In 2003 he was appointed Powerplant Managerat Volare Airlines, the second-largest airline in Italy. He specialized in the following Engine Models: PW4000, CFM56, V2500, CF6-80, CF34-8 and GTCP331-350 APU.

Prior to that, Mr. Lironi worked for Air Europe of Italy, where he managed Engine Troubleshooting and Engine Condition Monitoring. He also has experience with Total Engine Support (TES) in the UK as Engine Programme Manager, where he managed the Easyjet Engine fleet and various other projects. He also held the position of Powerplant Manager with Azzurra Airlines. He accrued much experience in contract negotiation and fleet management during these years.

Mr. Lironi holds an MBA degree from MIP, School of Business. On his final project, he worked together with Swiss Engine Shop in Basel to analyze the costs of shifting capability from LF502/LF507 to CF34 engine type. A graduate from Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy, Mr. Lironi also holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Masters in Aerodynamics.
