SAFA and Blacklist Awareness Course

Course content
The overall objective of the training course is to present the EC SAFA  (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) program to the airline industry. This includes explaining the EC Community List process (so-called 'blacklist') and identifying the potential implication for the airline industry.

Particular emphasis is placed upon: key actors, methodology of inspection, data analysis, working methods, regulatory framework, lines of communication and right of defence. The course shall include detailed explainations of'

• EC SAFA program- background and objectives
  
• EC Community List process
• Regulatory and legal framework
• Major actors and stakeholders; working methods and lines of communication
• ICAO standards and method of checking compliance through the SAFA program
• airline measures to fulfill SAFA obligations
• SAFA data analysis methodology
• interface between Operator and State of Operator.

Prerequisites:
A basic understanding of the SAFA inspection program would be advantageous. During the training course all SAFA and Blacklist elements are addressed in detail.
