Approved SAFA Training Organization

Third Party SAFA Training Organizations (STO's) need to be evaluated and accepted by Member States in order to be able to deliver SAFA training. Many European States have already accepted SGI Aviation as one of their SAFA training providers.

The applicable regulations are:

Considering Commission Directive 2008/49/EC

"2.4.3. Member States employing a third party organisation for the purpose of SAFA-related training shall put in place a system to evaluate such an organisation. The system shall be simple, transparent and proportionate and take account of any relevant guidance materials established and published by EASA. Such a system may take into account evaluations conducted by other Member States."

and

Considering the EASA Guidance Material: "The competent authority should issue a formal statement attesting the positive evaluation of training organisation, indicating also the type of training (initial theoretical training and/or initial practical training and/or recurrent training). Such a statement should be transmitted to EASA."

As per the regulation a SAFA Training Organization has the privilege to deliver:

• - SAFA Initial Theoretical training course
• - SAFA Initial Practical training course, and
• - SAFA Recurrent training course.

For the evaluation of the SGI Aviation organization there are some options such as:

• 1. Visit our office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and audit our organization;
• 2. Making use of the audit results of a colleague ECAC Member State Authority;
• 3. When attending one of the SGI training courses use the opportunity to assess the quality of the training courses and evaluate our organization;
• 4. A combination of the three above.
