Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) and SGI Aviation have signed recently a contract on the joint marketing and implementation of SAFA - training courses (Safety Assessment of Foreign Aircraft) in Germany.
April 6th, 2010 - Amsterdam - LTT and SGI Aviation signed this cooperation agreement with the aim to jointly offer SAFA Training Courses for the German market. Under responsibility of the European Commission and coordinated by EASA in Cologne in Germany, the EU Member States are obliged to perform inspections on third country aircraft landing in their State. During these Ramp Checks the compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards is verified.
Initially the cooperation aims to deliver high-quality SAFA training especially to the German market. The training course portfolio does not only include SAFA inspector initial training courses, but also Practical training courses, Recurrent training courses, Dangerous Goods training courses, On-the-Job Training courses and Aviation English for SAFA inspectors.
An example of the cooperation is the delivery of SAFA Initial and Practical training in the LTT facilities of Erfurt, Germany. Through the usage of the Boeing 737 LTT training aircraft an effective SAFA practical training course is offered.
Klaus Schmidt-Klyk, Vice President Marketing, Sales & Business Development (LTT): „This cooperation with the renowned partner SGI enables LTT to once again extend its portfolio and is offered an excellent chance to further develop in the important market segment Safety Management Systems”.
Wim Ovaa, Managing Director SGI Aviation: “The extensive experience of LTT regarding aircraft technical training and the recognised Lufthansa quality, combined with SGI Aviation’s SAFA expertise, will be a definitive advantage for our German customers.”
SGI Aviation is an official Third Party SAFA Training Organization and as such accepted by many European States as their SAFA training provider.
