SGI manages freighter conversion of two A300 aircraft

SGI Aviation has successfully managed the passenger to freighter conversion of two ex American Airlines Airbus A300-600R Aircraft. The two aircraft, of approximately 20 years old, have been converted to a full freighter configuration at the EADS conversion facility in Dresden, Germany. The conversion encompasses the installation of a large forward cargo door, a cargo loading system, a new courier station and several structural reinforcements. SGI assisted the customer with the complete management of this conversion process, which included a D-check and paint event. This also included management of all parts requirements. In addition SGI also assisted with the creation of the maintenance work-package & operational documents, restructuring of the aircraft historical records and importation into the Middle East.
