Internship Proposal – MTBR Information Capture

The Challenge

Within SGI Aviation’s daily operations, a significant amount of valuable technical and operational information is generated but not (consistently) captured or centralized. As a result, knowledge often remains with individuals rather than being accessible across the organization.

In addition, when supporting clients, it is not always possible to fully substantiate our recommendations due to a lack of structured, traceable data.

This internship project will specifically focus on improving the capture and usability of Mean Time Between Removal (MTBR) data for engines and APUs.

Main Objective

The primary objective of this internship is to research and propose a structured approach for capturing MTBR data within SGI Aviation.

You will:

  • Identify and evaluate current data sources,
  • Determine which parameters are essential for reliable MTBR analysis, and
  • Propose practical solutions to capture, structure, and maintain this data efficiently.

SGI Aviation is an independent advisor within the global aviation sector, specializing in technical consultancy and asset management of aircraft and engines. The company supports clients such as lessors, airlines, and financiers throughout the entire lifecycle of aviation assets, from acquisition to redelivery.

During the internship, you will work on international, practical projects and develop your skills in a dynamic, knowledge-driven environment. Your work will have direct impact on real asset management activities, including aircraft management, forecasting, and lease reviews.

Where You Will Be Working

You will join the Asset Management Department, a team of 11 professionals based across different locations worldwide.

In addition to your main project, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with team members on day-to-day activities,
  • Gain exposure to real client work and operational challenges,
  • Interact with other departments within SGI Aviation, and
  • Develop a broad understanding of the aviation asset & lease management industry.
