René Oostveen joined SGI in April 2009 as a Technical Manager. René was promoted to Program Manager in 2012 and became Head of Technical Services for the SGI Technical Services Team in 2015 followed by promotion to his current role in 2019 . Having over 30 years of experience in Aircraft Maintenance, René brings day-to-day Airline experience to SGI and its customers.
René started his aviation career with the Royal Netherlands Air Force as a non-commissioned Officer and held an Aircraft Maintenance License and Loadmaster Certificate for the RNLAF Fokker F27. René then joined Martinair where he gained Aircraft Maintenance Licenses for the Fokker F70/100, Boeing 757/767 and the McDonnell Douglas DC-10/MD-11, including testrun and borescope approvals for the RB-211 & PW4000 Engines. René also qualified as a MD-11 Flight Test Engineer, conducting test-flights after HMVs. During his career with Martinair, he fulfilled positions of Aircraft Maintenance Technician, Technical Inspector, Project Leader, Team Leader and Team Manager.
